Last week the Independent AirTightness Testing Scheme (iATS) was pleased to join Elmhurst Energy at the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) event in Newcastle.
iATS scheme coordinator Jennifer Hartley was on hand to meet conference attendees and talk about this specialised field of energy efficiency assessment.
Jennifer commented: “It was great to see such a good turnout at the CABE buildeng Northern event and to be able to spread awareness of the iATS scheme and our members.”
iATS is currently one of only two government-recognised competent persons schemes for air tightness testing, supported by Elmhurst Energy, the largest independent accreditation scheme for energy efficiency professionals.
Air tightness tests must be carried out for all new build properties, as laid down by Building Regulations Part L1A. With this in mind, Jennifer received a lot of interest from On Construction members, many of whom will be familiar with iATS from Elmhurst’s Design SAP integrated search facility for air tightness testers.
